PiscesNancy Kerrigan's Dad Found Dead, Brother Arrested
My Fox Boston: Police are looking into the sudden death that occurred early Sunday morning at the childhood home of former Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan. Her 70-year-old father was found dead. Mark Kerrigan, the victim's son, remains in police custody.
Emergency crews were sent to 7 Cedar Avenue after getting reports of an unresponsive male. Daniel Kerrigan was taken to Winchester Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Stoneham Police Chief Richard Bongiorno told FOX25's Keba Arnold that Mark Kerrigan, the son of the victim was arrested Sunday morning and taken to the hospital, and then to the police department. He was booked by 4 p.m.
During the Sunday incident, there was some sort of struggle between Mark and Daniel in the kitchen area.
Mark Kerrigan had been staying at the 7 Cedar Ave home. It's unclear if he has another address or whether he has a job.
He has been charged with assault and battery on an elder with serious bodily injury. The district attorney's office will determine if more charges will be filed.
Mark Kerrigan, brother of Nancy, is known to police. He is scheduled to appear in court this morning.
Funeral services for Daniel Kerrigan are scheduled for Thursday.
