A couple of years back I spent a few months in Mongolia, where bubonic plague is still very much around. It is contracted from marmots. I remember in my phrasebook there was a translation into mongolian of “Help! I have marmot plague.”

Eh, I lived behind a field that had prairie dogs that had the plague and Im fine. I lived 20 years in New Mexico this isnt new to me lol.
