In today's news, it truly seems that the BEST of the BEST continue to succumb to one of the oldest temptations in the book: ADULTERY. Why are we surprised?

Ashlee Holland: Tiger Woods, John Edwards, and the list will most certainly keep growing and growing with today's technology and people's need for their 15 minutes of fame.

The thing is, this is nothing new! WHY on earth are we still surprised at the idea that rich men (and women) in power (with willing subjects) won't go after something they want? Isn't that one of the perks?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the GREATEST of leaders, which we still keep on pedestals till this day, were adulterers. MANY of our past presidents have been linked to extramarital affairs and fathering several children with mistresses. So why do we still praise them? I'm guessing because of the lack of personal access to them such as we have today. Maybe ignorance was and still is bliss.

Men have always been known for such indiscretions, but did their indiscretions make them less of a leader or great figure in history? According to our sixth grade social studies class ... NO! We were taught to aspire to be like these men, to do great things like these men and change the world for the better as they had.

Blue collar workers, fathers, bankers, athletes, musicians, actors, presidents, philosophers, scientists ... What do they all have in common? They are human beings! So I ask again ... WHY do we GASP, judge, and obsess over those who decided to do what has been done since the beginning of time?

Let me be clear: I'm not condoning or excusing these actions. I'm just saying, let's just not be so naïve!

Impeaching Clinton, ridiculing Edwards, driving out Tiger ... does this really solve anything? Absolutely not! Men (and women) around the world are doing the same thing, right now, as you read this, AND most won't ever get caught. SHOCKING!

Don't be so quick to throw out the baby with the DIRTY bath water.
