Babysitter Arrested for Allegedly Lying to Police

Wave3: A babysitter in Muncie, Indiana has been arrested on charges she lied to police about the death of an infant in her care.
Forty-three-year-old Tina Byrd was being held Thursday in the Delaware County Jail on neglect and obstruction of justice charges stemming from the Jan. 19 death of 4-month-old Matthew Cheng.
The infant was the second child in 11 weeks to die at Byrd's home.
Police say Byrd left Matthew alone while she ran errands and was not home when the baby died as she first told investigators.
Defense lawyer Kelly Bryan declined to comment.
Authorities said the investigation continued into Matthew's death and the Nov. 3 death of 9-week-old John Wenninger. The county coroner's office hasn't determined a cause of death for either infant.
