For the first time ever, Barbie asked the world to help her choose her next career. More than half a million people voted.

As selected by girls around the world, Barbie's 125th career (she's had that many jobs -- wow!) is News Anchor. The News Anchor doll will debut this fall, complete with "a pink suit with black accents, a news folder, a camera and a microphone with the 'B News' logo."

But that's not the end of it: Adult consumers got a say, too, and they chose Computer Engineer. Mattel says Computer Engineer Barbie "inspires a new generation of girls to explore this important high-tech industry." To create a look that was authentic, doll designers consulted the Society of Women Engineers and the National Academy of Engineering to piece together the outfit and accessories. This Barbie sports a smart phone, a Bluetooth headset and a laptop travel bag. Mattel says she's "geek chic!"
