Father of Natalee Holloway Suspect Dies

RNW: Paul van der Sloot, the father of the main suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance case, has died on Aruba, Mr Van der Sloot's family has told Radio Netherlands Worldwide.

Joran van der Sloot's father collapsed on Wednesday evening while playing tennis at the Tierra del Sol estate on the Dutch Caribbean island. Emergency service staff were unable to resuscitate him. Paul van der Sloot was 57.

His son Joran is still suspected of involvement in the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway on Aruba in May 2005. The case was brought back into the limelight when Dutch crime reporter Peter R. de Vries secretly filmed Joran van der Sloot claiming that he had dumped Natalee's body in the ocean. This potentially incriminating statement was not accepted as evidence by the court.

The suspect, who lives in the Netherlands, was interviewed by Aruban police in Rotterdam early in 2008 and declared persona non grata shortly afterwards, making it practically impossible for him to return to Aruba.

Joran's lawyer says that the TV admission was untrue; his client had only wanted to impress the man he was talking to, trying to gain some credibility in the crimininal world.

Later in 2008 the US TV channel Fox broadcast an interview with Joran van der Sloot. He told interviewer Greta van Susteren that he had sold Natalee Holloway to a Venezuelan on the beach for 10,000 dollars. The man was apparently looking for a blonde sex slave. In the interview, Mr Van der Sloot also claimed that his father Paul had bribed policemen on Aruba to the tune of 50,000 dollars. These statements, too, have not been taken into account by the legal authorities.

Trainee judge

Paul van der Sloot, a lawyer who was training as a judge on Aruba, was repeatedly interviewed by the media in connection to his son's alleged involvement in the case. It was never clear how much Mr Van der Sloot knew about Joran's role in the affair.

This is a perfect example of how horrible, rotten people think that they can get away with murder. KARMA just moves in and makes their whole world a living HELL. Their life has no meaning anymore…. everyone who was involved in killing of Natalee will wish that they were dead…….they sold their soul to the devil and he is loving it!

I always say what goes around comes around. The truth will prevail yet and Natalee holloway will have her Justice.Paul now has to stand in front of his maker and attone for his sins.He had a big involvement in covering up for his son.

I find great pleasure in the results of this case… Wealthy irresponsible bastards will always get what they deserve…sometimes it takes a long time, but the payback always comes home.

And Paul was soon to be a Judge! Pretty scary. The Lord had obviously other plans for good ole Paul. Wonder if Natalie was with the Lord when Paul was greeted?

Good Riddance…the liar and criminal protector. Now if only the whole family could be wiped off the face of this earth…now that would be justice. The LIARS!

Karma cuts both ways. Rejoicing in a person’s death or rushing to judgment are the exact kinds of dubious actions that karma warns you to not embrace.

Enjoy your blinders.

You have to pay here where you are living for what ever sin you have done. As well you are going to get gratificated for all good action that you have done. It”s written

NO ONE should think that he/she is just so much smarter than anyone else alive that he/she can get away with degrading, drugging, murdering, etc. someone, as Joran VDS obviously did to Natalee Holloway. His sorry father, who should have taught him right from wrong, helped him cover up all of this. Natalee’s family has not seen her since May 26, 2005 (the day she left for her senior trip). Why can’t Joran just SHUT UP and stop torturing Natalee’s family with his horrible stories, even to this day? So what if Paulus’ death appears to be just/vindication? The comments so far just show that some people have real SORROW for Natalee and her family. They deserve the support! No one is gloating about Paulus’ death - it just seems a fitting end for him. Everyone (including me) must reap what he/she has sown. I feel bad for both families….just a little more for the Holloways/Twittys.

It is obvious Joran was not raised well. Otherwise, he’d stop talking about Natalie. This is so disrespectful to her family. If his father had any decency, he would have told him to just keep his mouth shut.

Playing tennis, enjoying life while the Holloway’s morn…Karma.

just finished watching the movie and decide to type jorans name on googole. makes me sick that you dont have to go any farther that just the first 3 letters of his name and a while list of things comes up. to exploit a young, beautiful girl for fame. how sick. he knows what happened to that girl..i doubt it was cocaine. please. a mother lost her child and he gets to live and make up stories. very sad. and i will never ever visit aruba. the police there covered up a sick truth and didnt care. i hope they lost alot ofmoney in tourist revenue.

Not sad when he died. Wish he were alive to see his son involved in another young woman’s death. This time Attorney Paul Van Der Sloot cannot control the outcome of justice. So much for the remaining Aruba idiots who enabled a killer to be free to kill again. Who knows how many missing young women were his prey.

I hope that the sociopathic son will soon pay for his crime(s). I pray that he shows some humanity and tells the Holloways and Twittys what happened to Natalee. I am glad that he confessed to murdering Stephany Flores, but he must do more. His conscience is not completely clear because Natalee’s murder has yet to be acknowledged by Joran. Man up and ‘fess up, Joran!

My mother and I want to develop a weblog much like this for our website, I stumbled across your blog trying to get ideas on the theme along with layout. I am taking some html coding course in college but not sure if I would have the capacity to create a blog such as this one at this time. Did you code this website yourself or retain the services of a qualified?
