A small family of five in Texas is struggling as they watch their 2-year-old daughter and sister, Layla Grace, battle stage-four neuroblastoma. But now they're no longer struggling alone. All around the Twitterverse, more than 23,000 followers are being updated daily on little Layla Grace's condition.
Layla Grace's mom has taken to the Internet and found support and comfort on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. The love has come from moms, dads and even celebrities like Ryan Seacrest -- who recently tweeted, "Just spoke w/ the mother of 2yr old @laylagrace who is in her final days of battling cancer. Keep her in our prayers."
The most recent and heartwrenching tweet from @LaylaGrace reads, "Hospice came & increased her morphine. She is still in pain at the moment. Hoping it starts working soon."
It's not just the details of the little girl's worsening condition that followers take a sincere interest in -- it's also the family memories and photos of Layla Grace that her mother posts that draw people close to the little girl who is fighting for her life.

How small of you to point out something that not only doesn’t make any sense, but is also soooo incomparable to the situation at hand. There is an innocent child dying a slow and painful death and this is what you choose to think of? It’s people like you that should be suffering instead of her. Get a life.
I am praying for this family, I went to their website, and read the blogs. And the second I saw the picture of that little angel, I broke down. She looks remarkably like my own daughter Jaydn. I can’t imagine the heartbreak, I will pray for beautiful Layla.
I’ve been following Layla’s story and commend her parents for their faith and for sharing her story.
I am following Little Layla too. I just got my girls a Layla Garce Tutu to wear for easter. It is nice to see so many people come together for this little angel.

Layla is a truly beautiful little girl. My heart is broken that not only she, but her family as well, has to endure this awful disease. I hope you can all find peace in the joy that Layla has brought in her short time here. She is a courageous little girl. My heart goes out to you and prayers will continue for you all.

(in reply to the first comment) I don’t think that the article was implying that twitter was helping the young girls condition rather that is was helping to send messages of support to her and her family which is extremely worthwhile.

It’s never good to see a story like this and it makes me sad to see this happening. I know I may be a little late, but this kind of stuff gets me all the time. I pray for the girl’s family that they’re doing alright and that Layla is in a better place.

I found the title of the article to be deceptive. Tweets have not saved Layla, no I believe are they expected to. The rally I have witnessed of late has been that she finally find peace.
