Daily Mail: The star-studded official video for We Are The World 25 was premiered yesterday, one month after a devastating earthquake claimed the lives of 200,000 in Haiti.

A-listers including Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion and Janet Jackson appear in the cover of the original 1985 single, released to raise money for the Haiti earthquake relief effort.

Before the video was broadcast on NBC, Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx, who also appears in the video directed by Academy Award-winning director Paul Haggis, reiterated how much help the devastated country needs.

Foxx said: 'Twenty-five years ago Quincy Jones gathered an amazing group of artists and musicians to create we are the World, written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie.

'I'm so proud to be able to share a new version of that song. Two weeks ago we found ourselves surrounded by dazzling group of artists of all backgrounds, ages and genres, but all of whom share a common commitment to take action to help Haiti rise from the rubble and rebuild.

'As artists we hope that you enjoy the video and join us in this rare simulcast to millions around the world, as we ask you to please - do more than just watch. Reach deep into your hearts and give anything you can, as we can to Haiti.

'Whatever you have, no matter how big or how small, it all counts. Thank you so much and enjoy the video.'

The seven-minute video opens with footage of the devastation left by the 7.0 quake, with the song started by U.S. pop sensation Justin Bieber.

Also featured are Jennifer Hudson and Nicole Scherzinger, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Fergie. Josh Groban, LL Cool J, Nick Jonas, Lil Wayne, Jeff Bridges, Kanye West, Miley Cyrus and Wyclef Jean.

The video also contains footage of the late Michael Jackson, who co-wrote the original We Are The World with Lionel Richie, which is played next to video of his sister Janet Jackson singing the revamped version.

At the end of the video Richie tells viewers: 'Thank you so much for watching everybody. You know, We Are The World 25 is an opportunity for us to see what we can do to help our fellow man.

'Haiti right now is in desperate need of our help and only you can help them. Do what you can, Haiti needs your help - now.'

Quincy Jones added: 'It warmed my heart to see that the experience during the recording of We Are The World 25 For Haiti embodied the same enthusiasm, sense of purpose and generosity as the original recording 25 years ago.

'Every one of the artists who participated, regardless of genre or generation, walked into the room with their hearts and souls completely open to coming together to help the people of Haiti.

'Through the contributions of their voices to this new rendition of We Are The World, and with the help of our partners, the We Are The World Foundation will be the most transparent not-for-profit foundation ever created.'
