While it matters nothing to me whether or not they have more kids, it does matter to me that they use God as a reason for having more children. Clearly they must realize by now that a woman was created with the ability to get pregnant once a month until menopause. For some women, this stage does not start until their 60’s or higher. SO yes, God will most certainly ALLOW you to have more children until you stop menstrating because that’s how he created you. The Quiverfull movement was created by a man…a childless man. I guess he was unaware of how the female body was created. This is where the Quiverfull movement makes zero sense. I just wish the Duggars would be honest and say, we love having kids and we just want more! Don’t use God as a crutch for your own personal decisions and desires. I do hope the older kids don’t one day regret having to grow up so fast and help parent their younger siblings…they probably won’t because they all believe in the philosophy of leaving it up to God. Somebody get this family a book on reproduction….fast!!

At least the older children will get a one year break before one of them gets stuck with raising their sibling.

We’re choking on overpopulation now and those imbeciles won’t quit breeding! Ms. Duggar is getting some sort of a ‘payoff’ for what she’s doing - whether it’s using pregnancy as an excuse to sit on her butt and be waited upon, or as an excuse to avoid the old man. There’s SOME reason she keeps cranking them out. Time to stop! Remember, each one of those kids will want their own houses and cars and kids and overburden an already straining world. Enough is enough already!

I have no problems with the Duggars, nor do I have a problem with their religious beliefs and being a full quiver family. Their faith is astounding to me. They provide for their children and they seem to be well behaved, bright individuals. Just recently the two oldest boys aided in saving another child’s life. The kids serve others by helping do mission work and build homes of their friends. While I do not share their beliefs, I do envy their faith in some respects. They are self sufficient, self made, and have done a great job in branding their family while at the same time not letting fame get to their heads, something that can’t be said for other reality TV parents.

Unreal. All these people screaming about “overpopulation” clearly have no idea what they’re talking about. There is no such thing as “overpopulation”. Paul Erlich’s book was a total farce which gets perpetuated today by people whose sole goal is government control over every aspect of our lives. As “Tom Joyce” so eruditely posited “Eventually governments will have to step in and prevent people from being so irresponsible or there will be nothing left of the planet as we know it.” I can’t believe that someone would place enough trust in any government so as to give them control over how many kids you they have. Ridiculous.

all you over population people need to seriously rethink your argument. It’s a load of crap to think that there is a scarcity of natural resources (although, since the US government has a tendeancy of making it impossible to utilize our own natural resources with all its red tape, I can see how you would think that there isn’t enough for everyone); and to think that having more children means needing more “stuff” is also ridiculous. Consider how much junk a baby needs (or what the average american purchases for a baby—if you have any question about the loads of plastic crap required, walk into any Babies R Us and ask to see a registry guide.) Now, lets say a family purchases all that junk for its one and only child. They will be spending a fortune on one child. Now, consider that same stuff being used over the course of several children. The per child cost is reduced significantly; and because its still being used, it isn’t sitting in some landfill somewhere. Just as it’s more economical to buy in bulk, in many ways, children are “cheaper by the dozen”. And lastly, rather than thinking about how much these children will drain from the system, consider their value as potential tax payers, home owners, and contributors to society. Because this family is not raising dead-beat children, they will go on to live the kind of lives their parents have lived: hard working, honest, productive, virtuous lives. It is precisily this kind of person we want in a civil society, because it is this kind of person who is self-sacrificing, willing to serve, putting forth the needs of the group before the needs of the individual, etc. So, it’s up to you: a citizenry one child families where the children are selfish, self-serving, spoiled, even dare i say immoral and fat (look at what has happened with the young men of china as they have lived a governement inforced one-child policy for a generation now) or a society built by and consisting of people like the duggars and their children (and subsequent posterity).

Perhaps it was a sign from God to the Duggars that they should stop procreating when this last child was born premature. Just because you can have children does not mean that you should keep having them. The Duggar’s make money off of their offspring and use the name of God to justify their choices. How well would they do if they had no paycheck from the Discovery channel? My mother in law was born in Ark and had a 18 siblings too. Her abusive father kept impregnating her mother. She had a very poor upbringing and they had no help from sponsers or TV.
Perhaps the Duggars can help other children of god that need good stable homes. But it appears that they only care about having their own offspring. Sad when people use God to justify their choices.

Of course they want more - since they don’t raise the ones they keep breeding (their poor enslaved older daughters do that). IF they weren’t all spouting that they left it up to “god” most people would see that they CLEARLY neglect their children. Seriously watch the show or read their books - Michelle proudly says she only takes care of the infants for the first 6 months and then they are weaned and given to an older sister to be completely raised - including dressing, feeding,caring for them when they are ill and educating. And has anyone praising them here actually seen the show? Do you see HOW MUCH WASTE/GARBAGE THEY CREATE? Every thing they eat/drink is on plastic plastic and in styrofoam (YES STYROFOAM) cups! They have a TON of land but don’t raise their own food to help support their brood. They are menaces to the environment and awful parents (well, guess they really aren’t parents since their older children actually do the literal upbringing) Michelle and Jim Bob DISGUST me.

Having children is the most selfish thing a person could do and its time that we admit it. Overpopulation IS an issue, a worldwide issue that no one wants to face, no matter how much people want to deny the issue. The issue is being exacerbated by the American idea that “I can have everything I want with no consequences” and similar mentalities. Humans are a virus that destroy everything they come in contact with and we have no right to do so. If people would teach their children how to properly live in harmony with the world around them, then people would have no issues with have 20 or even 30 kids, but seeing as humans, especially Americans, rape the world with their greed and selfishness, people like the Duggars need to be stopped. And people need to stop using god as a crutch and making the bible say whatever they want it to say.
