Yahoo: "Dancing with the Stars" sent home the first Season 10 celebrity cast member on Monday night, but it wasn't reality star Kate Gosselin or low-scoring former moon walker Buzz Aldrin.

The first "Star" sent packing was former "Beverly Hills 90210" bad girl Shannen Doherty and her professional partner, Mark Ballas.

"I think that dancing isn't really my thing," Shannen said after she learned the news. "I'm an actor and it's what I love to do and I did this for my dad and I did exactly what I wanted."

Shannen added that her elimination wasn't the worst thing to happen, as her partner Mark recently sustained a serious injury.

"I kind of think it's fate -- my partner is hurt and he's out for six weeks and to be honest, I wouldn't want to go on without Mark," she said.

Mark, who previously won "Dancing" during Season 6 with Kristi Yamaguchi, revealed that during Monday's dress rehearsal, he injured his knee.

"Luckily it's nothing too bad," he said. "I may not need surgery, I may, but I pulled the muscle off the bone so I'm gonna be out for six weeks."

Had Shannen made it through the elimination, she would have danced with Mark's dad, Corky, who was last seen paired with Cloris Leachman during "DWTS" Season 7.

However, Shannen's elimination wasn't the only surprising news of the evening.

Pamela Anderson and her partner, professional Damian Whitewood, were the other couple in the bottom two.

Pamela learned her placement early in the "Dancing" broadcast and she was caught mouthing her shock to her partner.

"Drama," she said. "Wow!"

Meanwhile, Kate and her partner, Tony Dovolani, were not in the bottom group.

Neither were Buzz and his partner, Ashly Costa, who received the lowest judges' score over their two weeks of dancing, but the ex-astronaut said he believed his service to the U.S.A. helped pull the pair through.

"I think my friends who are proud of our space program in the past and have great expectations for the future... I think they had a little bit of something to do with it," he said. "And I'm a patriotic person that served his country, saluted the flag and that made people think."

While it was bad news for Shannen, the judges also increased the heat on the remaining competitors.

British judge Len Goodman revealed that the dancers need to not only learn their new moves, but their ballroom movements need to convey a tale.

"We think this cast is doing a really good job, but we want to see more, so we're issuing a challenge for next week," Len told the contenders. "We want each dance to show a story."

Len warned that the pairs' ballroom moves should not include elements of his "Dancing" pet peeves.

"We don't want it to work with gimmicks and tricks," he said. "We want to see a story through the dance."

The remaining 10 celebrities and their pro partners will return to the ballroom when "Dancing with the Stars" returns on Monday night.

Kate Gosslin should be off the show next.

Kate cannot dance. She needs to go home next week. Enjoy watching the dancers improve, but Kate has not improved. Disappointed in how the voting is going. May stop watching the show if Kate survives next week.
