Gaston Gazette: A homeless Gastonia man is accused of stealing portable televisions from a pharmacy every day for three straight days.

Paul David Loftin, 42, selected a portable TV set worth $130 at CVS Pharmacy, 1803 New Hope Road, and concealed it in his pants inside the store bathroom Wednesday, according to a magistrate's order affidavit. He allegedly left the store without paying, then returned the next day and stole another portable TV after hiding it in his pants.

Police say Loftin tried to steal another TV on Friday, but was caught inside the store with the item in his pants.

Loftin was charged with two counts of misdemeanor larceny and one count of shoplifting-concealment of goods. He was booked in the Gaston County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
