Ktla: MTV reality star David "Puck" Rainey is hospitalized and facing DUI charges after being seriously injured in a car crash along with his 8-year-old son.

The former "Real World" star was drunk Saturday night when he veered off the road and rolled down an embankment, says Highway Patrol Officer Brian Pennings.

Rainey was trapped inside the car, which landed on its roof, but his son managed to escape the wreckage and get help.

He and his son were flown to University of California, San Diego Medical Center, where Rainey is being treated for serious injuries.

Rainey's manager says the son was released to the boy's mother, Rainey's wife.

Pennings says Rainey will be charged with driving under the influence, child endangerment and driving without a license.

A hospital nursing supervisor said Thursday that Rainey was in good condition.
