Top 5 Tips for Moms to Get More Sleep

There are a million and one reasons why an active mom needs to catch a proper amount of shuteye. Here are the the top five tips for moms to help us get a better night's sleep:

1) Make sleep a priority.
Put yourselves first, moms! Scratch that 12:00 AM laundry-folding session, and get to bed instead. Rest keeps moms healthy.
2) Make your bedroom a place for sleep and sex ONLY.
Keep the bedroom a strictly "Do Not Disturb" zone. Leave the TV and BlackBerry off and out.
3) Eat an early dinner.
It's noted that if you finish eating at least 2 to 3 hours before your regular bedtime, you will have given your body plenty of time to digest.
4) Avoid caffeine after midday.
Avoiding those midafternoon lattes should allow you to sleep better at night.
5) Absorb sunlight during the day.
In moderation, sunlight is a great thing -- and it can even help refresh you and remind your brain about day versus night.
