Think you can resist the adorable powers of the slow loris? Think again.

The slow loris -- a slow-moving primate -- has giant eyes and is cuddly, just like a little baby (except the slow loris likes to mark his territory with urine and CANNOT be trained to stop!). Oh, and he loooooves a good tummy rub!

Super cute, till one bites you, LMAO! They have a toxin, that while not deadly to humans, can deliver a nasty reaction.

Just an FYI, a loris is not a squirrel monkey at all.

The slow loris is *not* a squirrel monkey nor is it even from the same continent. It’s a lorisiforme, a strepsirrhine primate (related most closely to lemurs and bushbabies) from SE Asia. These are NOT legally sold as pets, although they are frequently obtained on the black market for upwards of $3500. In order to get them as pets, they burn down sections of the forest and kill parents with infants so that they can seize the infants while still young enough to habituate to life in a household. This is a wild animal, not a pet! Yes, they’re adorable (I’ve had the opportunity to meet one in an animal sanctuary) but they are not meant to be house pets.

And they don’t have toxins in their bite, by the way. It’s in their elbows! See the little bald patch on it’s arm in the screen capture before the video plays? That’s where they secrete toxins from (which are largely harmless to humans, although some individuals have rarely been known to be allergic to it).
