KOCO: A local family said it hopes other people can learn from their loved one's mistake.

Tony Smith pleaded guilty this week to murdering Donna Riles just days after the two met through a phone dating service.

Riles' family is warning people to think twice about using such services because it's hard to know what type of person may be on the other end of the line.

"The only thing I want to know is why he would do that," said Miranda Riles, the victim's daughter. "My mom was a sweet person. She didn't do anything to anybody. It's hard. I don't see why anybody would want to hurt someone like her."

She said Smith had known her mother for just a few days before he moved into their home.

"You know, she was just sweet. She would give people a chance and maybe that was the wrong person to give a chance to," said Katherine Riles, the victim's mother.

Smith received a life prison sentence as part of a plea deal. He said he agreed to the deal so that Riles' daughter wouldn't have to testify in the trial. He will be eligible for parole at some point down the road.

Tammy Johnson, Donna Riles' sister, said Smith orphaned her niece and she hopes he never gets out.

"That was all she had was her mama," Johnson said. "He was cruel. He doesn't deserve to be on the streets ever again."

An impressive share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing a bit of evaluation on this. And he actually bought me breakfast because I discovered it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I really feel strongly about it and love studying more on this topic. If doable, as you grow to be expertise, would you mind updating your weblog with extra details? It is extremely useful for me. Massive thumb up for this weblog post!
