Jesse James' alleged mistress is a mom of two. One of Tiger Woods' mistresses was also a single mom. What gives?
I thought the same when I heard about Cori Rist, the single mom who cheated with Tiger Woods. WHY would a MOTHER sleep with a married man who has kids? Surely a mother would know the kind of havoc this would wreak on a family. Do they really not care?
It's a given that the men are just as much to blame as the women -- I am not saying they're not. Tiger and Jesse will certainly not win any "Dad of the Year" awards, that's for sure. But, as a mother, it's just hard for me to understand how a mom could sleep with a married father and not think of the harm this could do to his kids -- and hers.
Rist, who has a 7-year-old son, said she decided to end her affair with Tiger when she saw a picture of Woods, his wife, Elin, and their daughter, Sam.
Rist said that Tiger told her that his marriage was on the rocks. McGee claims that Jesse James said his marriage with Sandra Bullock was a "sham." The women were reportedly both lied to ... I get it. But, again, there are kids involved here. Shouldn't you have tried a little harder to fact-check before you jumped in bed with a married father? Why just take him at his word when there was so much at stake?
Both mistresses could have lost their own kids over their affairs. Cori Rist's ex filed for full custody after her affair with Tiger Woods came to light, but he lost his custody bid in December. Michelle McGee's ex filed for full custody of their 5-year-old son, Avery, over the weekend ... the outcome of that battle is yet to be determined.
As a mother, how can you play a part in destroying this many families? Because you don't only destroy the man's family -- you destroy your own, too.
Do you just forget the consequences and do it anyway? But how can you, as a mother, just throw caution to the wind when there is so much to lose?
I heard that Michelle McGee was paid $30,000 to make her story public. Was it really worth $30,000 (maybe $20,000 after taxes) to break up Jesse James' family and her own? Or was she just after the fame? If so, I guess she got it. But at what cost?
