Reading the "Lanie" book was the beginning of a wild adventure for Nadia Bloom.
The "Lanie" website reads, "Lanie loves science facts and wildlife and is definitely a girl with 'outside genes,' but the rest of her family prefers to stay at home -- and indoors! When her Aunt Hannah encourages her to start gardening, bird-watching and camping in her own backyard, Lanie realizes outdoor adventure is all around her."
Nadia, who suffers from Asperger's Syndrome, disappeared into an alligator-infested Florida swamp near her home for four days, armed with a new video camera in her backpack to document her adventures. Thankfully, she was found alive and well yesterday.
Her rescuer, James King, spoke to "Today" this morning:
