Last October, teen bullies allegedly doused Michael with rubbing alcohol and lit him on fire over a $40 video game and a bicycle. Michael leapt into a nearby pool to put out the flames, but suffered second- and third-degree burns.
Now he's reaching out to Josie, a former classmate who was savagely beaten over a text message. Michael and Josie both attended the same middle school, but Michael is transferring. In the "Today" interview, Michael says that the school is "terrible."
He is set to start at a new middle school on Wednesday.
