Cornell Prof Calls Two Students the B-Word

There's new information about the Cornell University incident wherein a professor publicly called two black women the B-word. Essence.com has the full story.

Essence.com: It has been two months since Cornell University Africana professor Grant Farred called two of his graduate students "Black bitches," inciting upset among students and faculty of the program over the matter.
According to the Cornell Daily Sun, Farred invited two female students (who have not been mentioned by name) to join him at a conference on February 5 and 6 at the University of Rochester. Farred's advisees arrived late to the event. After the panel discussion, the professor thanked the grad students for attending the conference. What he said next shocked the women. "When you both walked in, I thought, 'Who are these Black bitches?'" he told them in a low voice.
Noticing his pupils' shock at his statement, Farred quickly changed the subject and then left the women -- who later informed Africana students and faculty of the incident. Soon the program's director, Salah Hassan, caught word of Farred's comment, and the university began an investigation.

He put his foot in his mouth and was obviously embarassed. Perhaps they should have shown #1 more respect by not being late and #2 more grace than to run and tattle. Sometimes we need to deal with crap immediately instead of putting it off on others to deal with. Grow up ladies.
Why is everybody blaming the ladies. They were wrong for being late, but he was a straight up punk BI#$@for calling them ‘Black Bi#$%es’!!!
Searching for this for some time now - i guess luck is more advanced than research engines :)
Amazing post, honest!
Amazing post, honest!
Another great post, congratulations!

They aren’t children. Walking in late to something is so disrespectful. I probably would have called them that also.
