Okay, those books are probably not suitable for a 9-10 year old, but a 12+ child should be able to read those and really any other books with parental input. I read (some of) those books as a teen and many others that had strong themes. If you let your kids watch Jersey Shore, why wouldn’t you let them expand their minds and gain a broader prospective through reading books that cover a wide range of topics.
BTW: Twilight is a terrible book. Very stupid, but it really seems to capture the teenage heart. My 12 year old loves it.
