WHOA! Toddler Walks a Tightrope Over Tigers

sign up for the momlogic newsletter Tweet This

Yes, she's 3. Yes, she's on a tightrope. Yes, those are tigers underneath her.

NBC reports that this 3-year-old girl in China has sparked controversy with her wobbly tightrope act -- all done high above hungry Siberian tigers.

It all plays out at a zoo in China, where the toddler -- a tyke named Xiaoyan -- walks a 50-meter wire that's nearly 30 feet in the air. (At one point, she falls -- only to be saved by a safety line.) Her father calls her the world's youngest tightrope walker. We'll just call him nuts.

What do you think? Is this entertainment ... or child abuse?

Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward.
