When Mackenzie Hughes, 12, of Troutdale, Oregon, was home alone on Monday, she heard someone knocking on the door.

She didn't answer. But when Mackenzie heard someone try to open the door, she called 911 from a phone in her bedroom. When the burglars entered her bedroom, she hid under the covers, crying, while still on the line with the 911 operator.

Thankfully, the burglars heard sirens and got scared off. The three suspects were later taken into custody.
