When we saw the video for the new song "When She Turns 18," we just couldn't look away. Dads, are you listening?!
The gist of the song is that if Daddy doesn't pay attention to his daughter, THIS guy will. Shudder.

That’s a christian video? More like Porn.
I know this is true since i looked for love in all the wrong places and married a man who didn’t love me back. The sad thing is now that we are divorced my little girl might (I pray she won’t) be the next victim.
yeah, well i am a single dad that thinks that there are a lot of mom’s out there in distant unloving relationships that might consider some choices when they “turn 18”…great tune, i know christian through a detroit connection, through one of my daughter’s. life is funny.

What does this have to do specifically with deadbeat dads? I get that it totally shows how daughters need their relationship with their fathers to grow and change as she matures. 18 isn’t a magical age at which maturity appears, it’s an arbitrary age picked by society. Different girls are going to have different relationships with different dads and boys are going to have to be part of the equation. Relationships are compilicated, but they are also one on one and require work all the time.
When she turns 18 she`ll chose between me and you. If this is about dead beat dads then she wouldn`t have to chose, there would be no dad in the picture. Thats how I see it.
