To girlfromthesameschool: If you do indeed go to that school, and what you posted is true, then it sounds like a big part of the story was left out of this article. If she was waving the candy around & tormenting other students, I can totally understand the teacher confiscating it. However, I just can’t get behind an entire week of detention for having one piece of candy, even if she was teasing other kids about it. When will people learn that the punishement must fit the crime? Otherwise, the kid will never learn the lesson you are trying to impart. She may learn a lesson, but it won’t be the right one.
