Is it Good Manners to Text During Dinner?

Where's Miss Manners when you need her? According to a new poll from Retrevo.com, only 29 percent of parents are against their kids texting during mealtimes.

Texting during dinner should be as much of a no-no as eating with your feet, you'd think ... that is, unless Mom and Dad are also updating their statuses between courses.
Forget about your kids ... do YOU text during family meals?
I won’t let my kids text during during…NO WAY!
WHAT…this issue isn’t viable, much less debatable…dinner time is for eating. My mom would have slapped the phone into next week then my dad would have slapped me there to find it. You owe your dinner preparer, others at the table with you (parents, siblings, guests or, dates), and your meal your undivided attention. I won’t even accept an emergency as an excuse because if it were a REAL EMERGENCY no one in their right mind would be texting, they would be calling! ! !
And we wonder where we went wrong in our society
Great information! Enjoyable and fun reading. I’ve just got a thing to offer about funny t-shirts.
