Good point Jennifer. Although I understand the costuming for dance is most often similar to that which the girls were wearing - I still was not fond of the outfits, just a little too much skin for me in this crazy world. I would have been proud of them regardless because as you said they were phenomenally talented. This is cute, but I certainly see your point. Well said.

Well when you are a small child, it’s not necessarily the amount of skin shown. It’s how the outfit is presented. Every child walks around in a diaper. It’s not obscene, it’s not disturbing. It’s a stinkin’ diaper (pun intended). If a four-year-old is dressed in an outfit that a street walker would wear…THAT is disturbing. It doesn’t really matter how much is covered or not covered…What matters is their bodies are being presented in a way that is supposed to appear attractive in a way that young girls should NOT be presented.
I definately agree that it is how the outfit is presented… I thought those girls were EXTREMELY talented, but their outfits (and some of the moves, although I get that that is the style) were intended to mimic sexual looks that shouldn’t be associated with a little kid. This is a diaper, not meant to look sexual. I just don’t understand why those girls couldn’t have worn leotards and dance shoes or clothes more befitting their age, instead of teeny tiny sexualized “streetwalker” outfits… then people could have focused more on the dancing and there might not have been a controversy

there are some dancers here called “funkeiras” they dance a kind of music called “funk” that says what i’ve said before.
ussualy they are very poor.
if they had a psychological preparation

Why is this cute, yet the little girls who ARE talented were cut down (and their parents cut down even worse) due to their costumes? This child here is half nude with only a diaper on (and looks to be a really wet diaper at that) whereas the girls were covered with more cloth than if they had been at a pool or beach?
Just curious - I am sure I will not get an answer or I will get snarked on.
Pretty sad if you ask me.
