Four-year-old Alisa Maier's grandfather recalls her kidnapping, telling "Today's" Meredith Vieira that what could have happened was "beyond imagination," and Alisa's father says the family was "overjoyed" to have her back alive.
There is one more frightening development in this case: After Alisa's alleged abductor, Paul S. Smith, committed suicide, police discovered a gun in his home that had been used in the killing of an auto-shop owner just days before Alisa's kidnapping. Police are still investigating to determine whether Smith was the murderer.
We couldn't help but notice that Alisa's mom was silent during this interview ... we would love to hear her side of the story. As moms, we can't even imagine what she went through.
What an amazing story ... so happy it had a happy ending!
