Christina Montoya Fiedler: What do you get when you mix a melodramatic teenage girl, a brooding vampire and a jealous werewolf? A great movie that's so action-packed your hubby just might tag along!

Twilight Eclipse
Twimoms, get ready for a bloodsucking, werewolf-morphing good time with "Eclipse," the latest installment of the "Twilight" saga.

If you're new to the storyline, it's centered around two star-crossed lovers -- one human, one vampire -- living in the town of Forks, Wash. (But if you don't already know that, you must be living under a rock.)

"Eclipse" takes place shortly after the events of "New Moon," which ended right as Edward asked Bella to marry him. (Talk about a cliffhanger!) Now Bella and Edward are graduating high school, and they've decided that, after they marry, he will change her into a vampire. But of course, things don't go as planned. (If they did, there wouldn't be much of a movie.)

The evil Victoria is forming an army of young vampires that are out for revenge against the Cullens (who killed Victoria's beloved mate, James). Specifically, Victoria wants to "get rid" of Bella so that Edward can feel the same hurt she felt when she lost James. (Huh? Who knew vampires were so dramatic?!)

Big props to the director and screenwriter for keeping things true to the book -- more so than the last two films. All the important parts were kept intact, and in this mom's opinion, "Eclipse" is the best "Twilight" film thus far.

Yes, the acting is still bad, but the good-vampires-vs.-bad-vampires fight scene is enough to keep the movie afloat. And the addition of the rest of the Quileute wolf pack -- including the misfit Leila -- is perfect.

The evil Victoria is now played by Blythe Dallas Howard -- a great addition to the cast. (Too bad she's not in it for long.) Taylor Lautner's character, Jacob, has really settled into his "werewolfness" and is more sure of himself, perfect foreshadowing for what's to come ....

So, should you see "Eclipse" this holiday weekend? The real question is: Why wouldn't you?!

The female werewolf is named Leah, not Leila.

The film was awesome, a bit slow at times but the action scenes were amazing, more so because I saw it in IMAX. I already want to see it again.

But please, people, if you haven’t read the books and/or haven’t seen the first 2 movies, then don’t go see Eclipse. It’s that simple.
