What would summer be without taking a dip in a refreshing swimming pool? In China, that means visiting a public pool teeming with literally thousands of fellow swimmers. At a resort in Penglai, Sichuan, apparently swimsuits and a pastel inner-tube floaty are mandatory for pool admittance. We can only hope and pray the water is heavily chlorinated.
And if you're visiting Japan, be sure to check out the simulated wave pool at Tokyo Summerland. You won't be lonely -- it's standing-room-only. Can you imagine letting your kid join in on the fun?!

What a safety hazard. A person could be stuck under the water with nowhere to go. I wonder how many drownings have occurred in these pools.
There is no way a lifeguard could help or see a drowning occur.
