8-Year-Old Charges Up Dad's Credit Card

An 8-year-old who swiped his father's credit card racked up more than $80 in charges at a convenience store, buying soda, Icees ... even a lighter!
Monta Knudson said his son, Jordan Evans, used his credit card eight times in a single day at Jackson's Food Store in Camas, Washington.
"I was mostly buying Icees," Jordan said. "I bought a couple two-liters of soda, like maybe four or five. And then I bought sunglasses ... and then a lighter."
Jordan even signed his first name (in a childish scrawl) on the receipt!
How was an 8-year-old allowed to purchase a LIGHTER?! This is just outrageous!
Why did the store clerk accept a Visa from a 8 year old?
Shouldn’t a parent have noticed all his trips to the store?
Obviously, someone showed him how to use a credit card, I doubt he just went in and swiped and purchased items. Either the Mom or Dad let him swipe it while they were at a store, I say that because I have been there, ” Please let me do that, PLEASE???, so you give him or her the card, show them how to swipe and what button to push, totaly not thinking about in the near future that they will remove the card from your wallet and go to the store, my question is simple, “WHY” did the store clerk allow a little boy or girl to pay for items with a credit card with NO PARENTS visible, or at least ask the child, is Mommy or Daddy here? If the answer is no, call them and let the parents know their child is in the store racking up credit card charges, Who knows the next purchase may be very expensive, so Parents please be more cautious and keep your credit cards in a more secure area, away from the child, I decided that instead of seeing how easy it is to swipe and go on my dime, I showed him what working a full day in the yard was like to earn the money to pay for what they wanted, believe me within a couple of hours, you will hear, I’m tired I do not want to do this anymore, I decided not to give him the easy way out when I am the one working, he has to put in the sweat too.
Any kid who goes shopping with mom or dad can watch what the parent does with a credit/debit card and be able to do it again, it’s not rocket science. But, what is an 8 yr old doing by himself anywhere??
Bad parenting
This is a shame that a kid can use someone else card with showing ID. Adults are asked for a photo. This kid will be stealing for the rest of his life he’s in training now.
Forget about the lighter, 8 years old with a CC, who accepts that? The boy couls have easily go and Buy Viagra Online as well and no one will eve notice. And 4-5 2 liter bottles of Soda?

You know that children are growing up when they start asking questions that have answers.
Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward.

Nothing is more admirable than the fortitude with which millionaires tolerate the disadvantages of their wealth.

The question should be, what is an 8 yr old doing in a convenience store by himself…8 times?!
