Back in the day, parents were lamenting crazy rock-and-roll as noise pollution and shaking their heads in dismay at their kids' freaky fashion choices.
Today, moms and kids are hanging out more than ever, sharing everything from clothes and musical tastes to secrets. According to experts, however, blurring the line between "kid" and "pal" comes with a price. Today on CBS's "Early Show," child psychologist Jennifer Hartstein warned against becoming too buddy-buddy with your kids.
"There's a boundary issue there, and once that's crossed, it's very hard to go back," she said.
Some parents think that if they're "friends" with their children, their kids will be more likely to open up to them about sex and drugs.
