The WSJ covers the "kindergarten prep" business. Yes, you read that right: People pay big bucks to make sure their kids get into KINDERGARTEN.
These "consultants" watch your kid play and interact, then give suggested activities for improvement, such as "encouraging the 4-year-old to speak directly with a waiter to place her own restaurant order" or "handing the money to the cashier at the grocery store to emphasize more natural interaction with adults."
Wow -- you couldn't make this up if you tried!
Would YOU pay big bucks for a kindergarten consultant?
