Katy Perry Banned from 'Sesame Street'

Katy Perry routinely makes headlines for her outrageous outfits ... and her appearance on "Sesame Street" was no different.

Katy Perry

Perry wore a cleavage-baring dress in her cameo with Elmo, and now "Sesame Street" execs say they're not going to air the segment, due to the overwhelming disapproval of parents.

Here's their statement: "In light of the feedback we've received on the Katy Perry music video, which was released on YouTube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of 'Sesame Street,' which is aimed at preschoolers. Katy Perry fans will still be able to view the video on YouTube."

Do you think the look is too scandalous for your kid to see ... or is this much ado about nothing?

I was more offended by the fact that I got better facial expressions from the Muppet and she couldn’t even lip sink to her own song.

^^^^It is not possible for me to like the above comment enough. Also, it’s really not a big deal, and I don’t understand why everyone is having a collective heart attack over it.

Thank you Robin and Erika. Why is it even an issue?

Because alot of people are prudes and uptight about the human body nowadays. America is the only country obsessed with sex and really the only country to see something perverted in any little thing.

I don’t see anything wrong with it. Preschoolers won’t be looking at her cleavage and thinking “Mmm future yummy mummy”. They’re watching Elmo. They really don’t give a crap about the human characters.

Really, teaching your children to be ashamed of their bodies is a huge mistake. They should be taught your private parts are private, etc.

Just checked out the video. It’s way cute. My 3 year old loves this song anyways, he’ll be psyched to see this.

True…the kids that watch it wont be looking at that anyway. However, knowing it is a kid show she COULD have dressed more kid friendly. (think school dress code appropriate) Either way I think it is getting attention and that is what she would want so does it matter?

If parents let their kids watch DWTS or even Ice Skating they are exposing them to much skimpier clothes.
My 2 year old loved the clip and was up dancing, not paying attention to what she was wearing.
BTW I’ve seen much worse at my local grocery store!

Thanks to all the hypocritical prudes any little thing in this country turns into a witch hunt. I think that to some of these hypocritical prudes, giving birth is pedophilia because a child is touching your vagina and they think that it’s disgusting and perverted. But everybody knows that some people will react that way to any little thing such as exposed skin, or a little cleavage, or ANY sexual connotation. Everybody knows these people are hiding their true colors. These are people that get excited at exposed cleavage, naked flesh etc. It’s likely that they are supressed pedophiles and feel extreme guilt over it so they are “the first” to condemn any little thing. That way, they can try to convince temselves that they are “normal.”
