Mom Cheers Teen Daughter On during Fistfight

Another girl fight hit YouTube this week ... which is unfortunately nothing new. But the unexpected twist to this one? One teen girl's mom was on the sidelines cheering her 16-year-old daughter on.

April Newcomb, 39, has now been formally accused of child abuse.

A spokesman for the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, Dave Bristow, said, "We're basically in shock [that] a parent can sit there and watch their child and not intervene .... It's pretty obvious this is child abuse."

If convicted, Newcomb faces up to five years in prison. She's free on $15,000 bail.

Do you think she should go to jail for egging her child on?

Worried about your own teen getting into a fistfight? According to Dr. Lisa Boesky, here are five signs that your daughter may be ready to snap:

1. She's getting increasingly irritable or agitated (has a short fuse).
2. She starts finding fault with everyone and constantly sees herself as a victim.
3. She verbally threatens peers or family members.
4. She experiences a major loss, gets in major trouble or is humiliated.
5. She says things like, "I can't take it anymore" or "I'm going to make them pay."

How do you keep your own child from thinking fighting is OK? Check out our discussion guide in HTML or PDF form.

I’ve been born into the industry with my parents functioning within the fashion trade. I’ve realized the industry is quite disjointed so I am currently earning a living using a internet site to carry everyone together.

This weblog appears to recieve a large ammount of visitors. How do you get traffic to it? It offers a nice individual spin on things. I guess having something real or substantial to give info on is the most important thing.

Hi folks, - discovered your web page inadvertently while roaming across the internet this afternoon, and pleased that i did! I like the style and design and different shades, but I should say that I’m having difficulties when it loads. I’m making use of ELinks 0.11 internet browser for mac, and the menu block doesn’t line up nicely. i am convinced I’ve applied precisely the same layout on a company’s website, but the menu seems alright on mine. I suspect the error is at this end & maybe it’s the perfect time to change!
