Recession Mama Michele Ashamalla: One of my favorite deals of all time is back! Inside specially marked General Mills cereal (Cheerios, Lucky Charms, etc.), there are codes that can be redeemed for free movie tickets!

Two codes (two boxes) equal one free ticket. This time around, the ticket is by MovieCash, which is good at most theaters and does not have to be redeemed until August 2011. The codes are on the larger boxes this time, so getting them for $2.50 each probably won't be happening. I did see them at my local Target, though, for $3.29 a box. So: For $6.58, you get a movie ticket and two large boxes of cereal.

Here's the kicker: They are good for 3D movies, which are $12 to $15 near me. I don't know if you've noticed, but practically every kids' movie now comes out in 3D, and there's no way I'm spending almost $70 to take my family to see "Yogi Bear."

I plan to do what I did last time: Buy a crazy amount of cereal and enjoy a lot of movies. Then I'll make some kooky recipes to use up a bunch of the cereal, and I'll look for a food drive to donate to. Eventually, I'll just give the rest to a food bank.

We just worked our way through the last batch of Honey Nut Cheerios. And so it begins again ....
