"Teen Mom" Amber Portwood got a full-torso tattoo portrait of her 2-year-old daughter, Leah, "as a way to show her commitment," reports RadarOnline.com.

This is the same 20-year-old mom who was charged with felony domestic violence for going after Leah's dad, Gary Shirley, during filming of the MTV show. The Department of Child Protective Services gave Shirley temporary custody of Leah, but Portwood resumed custody after she "purchased a new bed for her daughter and cleaned up her home."

There was another reported altercation between Portwood and Shirley involving Shirley's new girlfriend, Ashley. For the moment, though, Portwood has also moved on and is now dating a guy named Clinton Yunker -- a dad of two with a long criminal record.

It's doubtful that spending a few hours in a tattoo artist's chair will suffice in terms of a maturity boost, but lots of parents -- myself included -- do get tattoos to honor their relationship with their kids.
