The Best Books to Give This Holiday!

And speaking of favorite things ... here are my fave books that I'll be stuffing my friends' stockings with this holiday:
"Love in Mid Air," by Kim Wright
LOVE this book. A genius debut about a woman named Elyse, who puts her nine-year marriage at risk after she meets a stranger on a commuter flight. A thoughtful look at love, marriage and motherhood. I promise you'll be ordering it for all your girlfriends the minute you finish it!
"The Divorce Party," by Laura Dave
Laura Dave is one of the most talented writers around, and her second novel is fabulous. Set in Montauk, it's about two women: Gwyn, who's getting ready to end her marriage, and Maggie, who's quickly realizing how little she knows about her own fiance. Don't miss this one!
"Stay," by Allie Larkin
Whether or not you're an animal lover, you'll be charmed by Larkin's debut novel about a woman who accidentally buys a dog online after her best friend marries the man she loves. This book will have you wanting to run out and adopt the biggest dog you can find. I actually did adopt a German shepherd after reading it!
"The Transformation of Things," by Jillian Cantor
Cantor's first foray into adult fiction is a home run. Jennifer is having a really bad day: Her husband, a handsome young judge, just got indicted, and her upper-class world begins to fall apart rapidly. But are things really as they seem? The ending is surprising and will have you thinking about it long after you finish this terrific book.
"The Love Goddess' Cooking School," by Melissa Senate
You'll be famished after reading this delicious novel about Holly, who inherits her nonna's cucinotta and is determined to perfect her grandma's beloved recipes and run what's left of her cooking class. Did we mention that Holly doesn't really cook that well? Sweet and heartwarming, it's the perfect book to curl up by the fire with this winter.
Nice…
Pardon me for sticking my nose in here, but if this blog is aimed at moms, why is the first suggestion a divorce fantasy book? A book that paints an adulterous bored housewife as a victim is not what the flailing marital institution needs. How is that going to help the mindset of married mothers?
Am i allowed to make a suggestion? I do think you’ve had something good here. But let’s suppose you also provided a couple of links to a website which backs up what you’re you mentioned? Or perhaps you may provide us with some extra information to check out, something would certainly connect what exactly you are talking about, sth more concrete?
Hi there I’m keeping getting a technical issue reading your site, I’m getting 502 messages quite frequently, I’m not way too sure why but when I reload the page it comes okay.
It’s really a great and useful piece of information. I’m glad that you shared this useful information with us. Please keep us informed like this. Thanks for sharing.
