Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry's custody battle has turned ugly, with Halle accusing her ex of verbal abuse, according to People.com.

After splitting in April, it seems Halle and Gabriel were making every effort to co-parent, and were seen amicably together numerous times on vacation and at the playground with 2-year-old daughter Nahla.

Now, this week's People exposes the ugly side of the celebrity divorce.

 "Once they broke up, he became verbally threatening to Halle," says Aubry's former friend and business partner, Stephane Bibeau.

 Yesterday it was reported Halle has given up work, walking away from the star-studded flick, "New Year's Eve," in order to concentrate on fighting for custody of Nahla.

Berry and Aubry split in April 2010. The "Monster's Ball" actress is now linked with "Unfaithful" actor Olivier Martinez.
