Report: One in Four Children Raised by Single Parent

One in four children in the US is raised by a single parent, according to a study by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
This percentage has been on the rise. The "U.S. had 25.8 percent of children being raised by a single parent, compared with an average of 14.9 percent across the other countries," says the AP.
Ireland came in second (24.3 percent), followed by New Zealand (23.7 percent). Countries with the lowest percentage of children raised by single parents included: Greece, Spain, Italy and Luxembourg.

Define single parent raising a child - alone or are they co-parenting. I hate the term “single parent” b/c the vast majority of the time these so called single parents are co-parenting with the other parent.
