If you're looking for an original baby gift with special meaning, look no further than these adorable, handmade sock monkeys made by The Las Artesanas Mariposas, a dedicated group of mothers and other women in the Dominican Republic.
With support from the Elizabeth Seton Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to strengthening the resource-limited communities in and around Baní, the women formed The Las Artesanas Mariposas, an artists' collective to support themselves and their families.
The artists get together each week to enrich themselves and their children through the creation of crafts. Their earnings are used to sustain their families with food, to pay for school uniforms and medical bills.
For more information, visit ElizabethSetonFoundation.org.
The sock monkeys are made from red-heel socks, and come with a sweater and hat, and are priced at $30.

Supporting women around the world is a cause we're happy to get behind, and we hope you will too.
