After facing a high number of repeatedly tardy kids, Marshalltown High School decided to implement wake up calls... giving kids no excuse to be late for school.

While most of the feedback has been positive, some parents feel the school is encouraging overly permissive parenting and producing unmotivated, undisciplined children," according to the Des Moines Register.

Momlogic wants to know: Would you want your child's school calling your home every morning?

I actually really like that. They are only calling kids who have been repetitively late, so that means the parents weren’t disciplining their kids enough to get them up on time anyway. And I think it’s good motivation for the parents to start getting on top of their kids more, if they don’t want the school doing it for them.

leave the phone off the hook - it works against unecessary snow day alerts, too!

Is MOMLOGIS ever going to update this site????

High school students should be getting ready for the real world. An employer is not going to call every day, neither should school.
