Its good to read this post.
The hallway slide sounds dangerous. Ever slipped on ice and hurt yourself? Should I laugh the next time I see it happen to someone? The next person I see fall down on ice might be you. You could end up with a broken hip. If I see it happen should I just stand there and say, “Hahahahahahaha, that reminds me of a school prank! Wow, you’re so funny,” to the injured person?
I wouldn’t imagine it’s pleasant for all those kids who have the smell of skunk on their books, either. The pranksters might have sprayed the hay, but we all know how easily smells get around. They tend to hang around too.
I can see why the students involved in those two pranks were punished. I did like the other ones though, especially the one with the car. The playground one surprised me because I couldn’t think of how it was a prank at first. I know a school that does have its playground on the roof. The roof is flat and there are walls around the playground (obviously) so it’s safe. Us teachers even had a water fight with the students up there last summer.
I don’t see anything wrong with those pranks
They are funny though!!

I don’t get it - none of these pranks seem to have put the students or others in danger or to have resulted in expensive damage - so why are the students in so much trouble?
If they were given fair warning that no pranks were allowed and that specific punishment would be meted out to anyone taking part in a prank - that is one thing. But, if there was no prior warning and a tradition of senior pranks in the school - then the administration should lighten up.
Have the kids pay for any damage they caused - or clean up any mess - and move on. This should not be an issue for withholding the right to graduate.
