Su Meck, a mother-of-two, graduated from college after suffering severe amnesia 23 years ago in a freak accident. The family appeared on the "Today" show and spoke of the difficulties she overcame.
Meck had been playing with her six-month-old son, Patrick, when a ceiling fan fell and hit her on the temple.
"It was out of a horror movie," her husband, Jim Meck said on "Today." She collapsed on the floor."
Su suffered a total loss of memory, meaning, she could not remember anything - how to talk, walk, eat, read, write, and had to fall in love with her husband all over again.
The brave mother graduated with honors from Montgomery College in Maryland and will continue her education at Smith College. "There's more to being a wife and mother than being just a wife and mother," Su said on the morning show. "You have to be your own person too."
