Last week, when we were on vacation at the beach, I was very thankful for the kindness of strangers.
A lot of people laughed when they first watched the video by Zach Anner, the twentysomething with cerebral palsy auditioning for Oprah's "Your Own Show." I laughed, too. I also cried. As the mom of a little boy with CP, I ache for the world to see my child that way.
1) Figure out way to get a billion more therapy sessions for child. Preferably for free.
My hairstylist gave me a dye job that wasn't to die for ... so I went to another stylist in her salon to get it fixed.

1) Because we never thought that "doing it all" would mean doing this much. But we do do it all -- and then some.
2) Because we've discovered patience we never knew we had.
3) Because we are willing to do something 10 times, 100 times or 1,000 times if that's what it takes for our kids to learn something new.
I have been that mom who's gotten sucked into a cell phone or e-mail and ignored her child. Yet as I watch the moms around me, I'm feeling a little unnerved. Surely it can't be good for our kids if we're giving our mobile devices the best of our attention.
