Absidi: So Mother's Day is coming up this weekend ... Happy Mother's Day to all you mommies!!!

Mother's Day is always a little depressing for me. I always see the cards and special stuff they put out in the stores ... and it's just another reminder that I don't have a baby yet. I don't really get too upset, probably because I am so focused on getting cards out in time to the women in my life, haha! I definitely think that Mother's Day is such a great holiday. All mothers deserve the recognition they get on this day! Usually, I spoil the women in my life on this day. I say "women" because my Dad's girlfriend has always been there for me, so even though she is not my mother, I still like to include her. =]

I remember when I was a little girl, I never wanted to buy anything ... I always wanted to make a gift because that way I could put my "love" into it. I made flower vases, "free chore" coupons, picture frames, whatever -- you name it, I tried to make it, ha ha. I can't wait for the day when I have a child who brings me a piece of paper with random beads, glitter, paint, crayons, markers, and colored pencils on it ... all for the same picture! I will probably have no clue what it is supposed to be, but I know for a fact that I will LOVE it!

It's funny because every time my husband and I pass something that has to do with Mother's Day, he starts going into the ideas that he has ... like helping our future child cook me breakfast in bed, or how he is going to help craft something. It is so cute!!

But for now, I will continue being the gift-giver. =] For the record, I don't make things anymore ... Papier-mache vases and popsicle-stick picture frames were cute when I was younger (that is about as far as my artistic abilities go), but I don't think they would be as appreciated now!
