Anh-Chi: I did my 5-day Early Pregnancy Test this morning, and lo and behold, it came out negative. Negative?! How could that be?! I know I'm testing only 2 days earlier than I should (7 days vs. 5 days before my period normally starts), but how could that make such a big difference? Okay, so I've been kind of cheating. Even though today should've been my first day of testing, I've been testing daily for the past week or so. I couldn't help it! I have such a huge box of pregnancy tests that could last me for the rest of my life! So that's where the disappointment plays in. I'm telling you, if you want to save yourself from misery, test only on the days that are instructed. Otherwise, the constant negative results will just eat at you. This should be a hopeful not doubtful time, right?!

Just because my result is negative, it doesn't mean I'm not pregnant though. Perhaps I really did test too early. I've read that some women don't even get a positive result until days after their missed period. Every woman's body is different, so I can't compare myself to others, and wonder why my friends have gotten early positive results. It's just so odd though, because we've been trying to get pregnant at the same time, ovulated around the same time, and experienced the same symptoms (bloating, cramping, aching, etc.) ... but I'm still dreadfully waiting for that miracle to happen, for the test to say "yes." YES, indeed you are actually pregnant!!! So I'm going to keep a healthy dose of optimism, and try again every morning until the test is positive. Whether that takes weeks or even months, I'm determined it will happen! As my mother always says, when there's a will, there's a way!!!
