I Will No Longer 'TRY'

Anh-Chi: Just several days ago, I got my period. Yes, right before I was about to take my pregnancy test. I'm quite certain at this point that I will no longer "try." My friends in the Air Force are getting pregnant and they didn't even try!!! Maybe that's the trick ... I won't focus on conceiving anymore and will hope for the best.

I won't deny that seeing other people with children pulls at my heartstrings, though. Every time I see the sheer happiness on a mother's face, I too wish I could experience that same euphoria. Whenever I go to a social gathering within the Air Force, I always end up spending more time with the kids than I do with anyone else! And the short amount of time I get to hold a beautiful baby in my arms, I'm overcome with joy.

When I envision a family with my husband, nothing seems more perfect. We're both at a point in our lives where children would make such a wonderful addition to our household. Especially when we move to Dover, since many of our peers in the Air Force have kids already. As much as I can't stand the wait, perhaps we'll be lucky after the move. What a coincidence that the Air Force wives got pregnant only months after they were relocated. Who knows ... maybe I'll get lucky as well!

Good Luck on your baby making and the move! I am sorry people judged you for telling your M-I-L that you were already pregnant. I never once thought it was a bad thing, it obviously helped her health and spirit. Besides, you will be soon I’m sure. I will miss hearing about your journey to conceiving, but you have to do what’s best for you. I can completely relate. Maybe you will drop by the site and let us know when you are blessed with your baby.

I am 38 years old. My husband and I just started going through fertility treatments in hopes of having our first child. I am in good health, not overweight (I just lost 20 lbs) and not a smoker. I just went through my 2nd round of Chlomid. My doctor said that if this does not work, he would like me to start hormone injections in order for me to be able to produce more viable eggs. My question is, does anyone know of anything I should or should not be doing (foods to avoid or eat more of, exercise more or less and what kind, get more sleep, etc.) in order to increase my chances of either producing more viable eggs or to increase my chances of having a successful pregnancy through these treatments. My doctor said that certain exercises are OK (elliptical trainer, bike and weight training) as long as I’m not bouncing around and there is no impact on my abdominal area. Also, what can you recommend for keeping my spirits up during this process and not getting despondent when different techniques do not work. Any ideas or recommendations from doctors would be very much appreciated. Wendy and all you potential moms out there-I wish everyone the best of luck!!!
