Anh-Chi: The last two days have been like night and day. Just yesterday, I was so disheartened about conceiving. After so many months of failed attempts, I was ready to give up. I couldn't understand why I was still getting a negative ovulation test result, even though I saw all the sure signs. Only several days after my period ended, I had a thin cervical mucous that should indicate the onset of ovulation. This cervical mucous started out as a cloudy texture and eventually turned into a thin bouncy texture that resembles an egg white. I've also experienced cramping, which means that my egg could be released from my ovaries. This wasn't any kind of major pain, it's just a sensation that feels as though something is moving ever-so-slightly down there.
So I was right!!! Low and behold, I WILL be ovulating, and I can't tell you enough how thrilled I am!!!!!! I've been reading this book "How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby," but I've decided to just let nature take its course. I'd love to have a boy so that he'd be the oldest of the bunch and so my husband can play all kinds of sports with him, but I'd love to have a girl so I can dress her up all the time, and do fun girly things together. So whatever happens, my husband and I will be lucky. I don't want to set our hopes on one sex, and then get disappointed. That just wouldn't be fair to our child.
Wow ... I forgot to mention that my best friend and I might be pregnant together! I just blogged earlier that I wasn't sure if we'd have this opportunity. So even though our kids might not grow up together, we'll still have the possibility of sharing the experience of pregnancy!
It's Thursday, so my husband and I have 2 nights to get busy!!! He's going on his mission again this Saturday, and I can't waste any precious moments for us to make our first baby! I'm hoping he can take Friday off, so we can spend a romantic day and evening together. I want to be in the most relaxed state of mind possible, so we can make this right!
When I first discovered the positive LH surge in my ovulation test, I called Jen Sawalha, the producer of Conception Diaries. That's right ... I didn't call my parents, my best friends, or even my husband ... I called Jen. I've felt incredibly comfortable with her from the first day she introduced me to this project. I really can't thank the First Response and momlogic team enough. They've been nothing but supportive and inspiring, and I'm so blessed to have met everyone ... THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!!!
