My husband and I just found out we're moving to Dover, Delaware, in 6 months ... I'm not sure how to take this, since we didn't expect to relocate so soon! So there goes my hopes and dreams to have a baby while I'm still near my parents and other loved ones! I feel bad because the elderly in our families won't be able to visit us.
The good news is that the Air Force community in Dover is more close-knit than the one in Sacramento. So I'm looking forward to establishing new friendships and connecting with other women (hopefully mommies or soon-to-be-mommies)!
What if I get pregnant soon though?? I might be moving and driving cross-country while I'm 6 months pregnant! My husband and I have two cars to transport, and I can't imagine driving by myself for more than several days (especially when I might be 3 months shy of delivering a baby)!!! All this makes me want to delay the whole baby-making process, but I have to uphold my promise to myself and others -- that I'm going to try my best to get pregnant. And whatever happens, I'll muster the strength to get by.
Wow ... I never expected to raise my future kids on the East Coast. I'm nervous about moving, since I've spent almost my entire life in California. Yet at the same time, I'm looking forward to change and new experiences. I love New York and D.C., and it's exciting to know I can visit anytime. I'm not the best at living under cold conditions, but hopefully I'll adapt to the weather and learn to enjoy it.
My husband and I promised we'd be content anywhere, as long as we have each other. My husband's getting more and more eager every day about starting a family. He keeps saying, "I hope you get pregnant soon." He's normally not very expressive, so when I hear these words, I just want to melt!
