Korto: Thus far I've been very fortunate during this pregnancy. I'm five and a half weeks along and I have yet to experience morning sickness ... "knock on wood." Hopefully I am not speaking too soon, but thus far, this pregnancy is certainly different from my previous one.
With my previous pregnancy, 13 years ago, the first 10 weeks were a nightmare. I was consumed with morning sickness. Everything made me nauseous -- from the foods I once enjoyed to the smell of almost everything -- I was always sick to my stomach. With this pregnancy, except for exhaustion and sore breasts, all the other common symptoms that are associated with early pregnancy I've yet to encounter. Then again, maybe it's just too early, or maybe the fact that I'm much older than I was with my previous pregnancy contributes to my lack of symptoms. But whatever it is, my hope is, the difference is due to the fact that I'm carrying a boy this time around. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but you never know.
